Good question – don’t you think? How are we able to actually develop a relationship with a Being that is unknowable…and unseeable? Mmmm….like I said, good question.

And yet…I bet everyone reading this actually feels like they KNOW God…or have TOUCHED Him in some way … or flip it – that HE knows YOU and knows you’re every thought – and HAS touched you in some way. Interesting isn’t it? Why do you think that is?

Well, one reason may be because, as it says:

God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. (Genesis 1:27)

We are made in His image…we are related to Him, we have His essence in us … and we recognize that in various ways, even when we deny Him!

Human beings…as they BECOME human, setting aside their animal nature, can begin to act like the holy beings that we were originally created to be. When we set aside those things that are driven by our own desires, our own egos (even though many times we are very successful), then we can gt past ‘ourself’ and learn how to be holy. The scriptures even say that we CAN be holy!

“You shall be holy, for I, the Lord your G-d, am holy.” (Leviticus 19:2)

If we can stop for a few moments and set all of our worries, our daily ‘stuff’ aside, and meditate on who this ‘God’ is…and what His characteristics are – we find that he is compassionate, patient, kind, just, loving and merciful. These are the characteristics we are to emulate, these are truly walking in the footsteps of the Messiah.

Ask yourself:  Do you feel like you show the characteristics of the Holy One of Israel to those around you? Do you look at yourself as ‘holy’?

Exercise for the day:  Stop and consider how to walk in holiness. Find one way today to walk in the Messiah’s footsteps and extend to someone else compassion, patience and kindness.

thank you….this is hard, but I yearn to be much more like my Jeshua…I hate my humanness, I am abhorred how I hurt others without meaning to…I hate the scars I carry in my psyche from others that have abused me, I hate how the generational curses have scarred my children, I hate that I have been married four times, three times to abusers like my father…I long to have peace from being a sinful human being…but, I do love when He has used my wounds and scars to help others out of a life of bondage to drugs and alcohol…I love to help other women that are being abused see that it is not them that are causing the abuse…I love to be His hands of love…and mercy, grace and compassion…I know how it feels to walk alone, lonely, and not understood…I love to understand and be there for those that have no one left…I say, send me the lonely, the battered and bruised, the throwaways…its a lonely journey in a pristine church full of ppl in denial of their own brokenness…

Please consider that if you ‘hate’ your humanness…then you are essentially saying that the Holy One Himself made a mistake in designing you. It is all in our perspective of our ‘life’ that causes our reality. As a counselor, you probably already know that. Yes, we are sinful…but it doesn’t mean we have to continue in sin. It is in our experiences that we are able to emphasize with others, help others, encourage others. And in doing so, we help and encourage ourselves. We are all broke, and we live in a broken world…only through allowing HIM to reshape and remold our broken vessels are we able to carry on. Will we ever be able to fix ALL those cracks in our vessel? Probably not…but that is where the LIGHT will be able to shine through 🙂 … be encouraged sister …we’re all in this boat together.

thank you so much for your feedback…just going through a very hard time and feeling very hopeless. I know in my head that I must walk by faith and not trust the emotions and listen to the ruckus in my head…augh…may the Father strengthen these feeble knees! shalom…
