We have just begun the season of Elul – a special time of accounting of our lives and a turning back to the God of our fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It is the month of preparation leading up to the most prophetic fall Feast Days.  The rabbis say that how we account for the past is how we prepare for the future.

The Aramaic mean of Elul means ‘searching’ and it is during this time we examine ourselves and honestly look at the areas in our lives that cause us issues. The more honestly we examine ourselves and the more clearly we evaluate ourselves, the better our goals of living a successful life can be attained. Self-transformation is possible!

These next 30 days, leading up to Yom Teruah (commonly called Rosh HaShannah or Feast of Trumpets) and Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) are important in the fact that the better we examine ourselves now, the more revelation we will receive on these two high holy days.

How can we be assured that our lives will change during these 30 days? Simply because He is faithful to keep His promises. If we believe in Him and trust in Him than we can rest assured that not only will we be forgiven of past mistakes, but that He will be there to lead us in the path of restoration and renewal!

Join me as we enter into these special appointed days of the LORD … and breathe in the richness and beauty of what the Holy One has given us if we choose to follow Him and accept His invitation to His Feast Days.
