Dear friends and family. Today, my dear sister-in-law has passed from this realm to the next. Her courageous fight against this terrible disease was fought with strength, courage and a deep faith in the God she served.

Her husband, Ron, and her went to the Cancer Center of America in Oklahoma last week, hoping that their involvement would turn the corner. Unfortunately, it did not.

Her four children and daughter in law, along with her husband and her husband’s parents, along with many family and friends, said their goodbys and kissed her tenderly. As they raised their voices in songs of praise and thanked God for sharing this precious one with them, she said her own goodby and went home.

While all of us are in shock, and wiping away tears, we know that He has a plan for each and everyone of us … and I am reminded of the song by Marty Goetz:

Teach us to number our days
That we may gain a heart of wisdom
Teach us to number our days
To be glad to rejoice in them

O how we love this time this place
But it’s not our destination
We struggle we strive to run this race
With all of the strength we can bring
Then in what is but the blink of an eye
We finish our years like a sigh
So help us now, Lord show us how
We can redeem days that pass like a dream

Teach us to number our days
That we may gain a heart of wisdom
Teach us to number our days
To be glad to rejoice in them
For a thousand years in your sight
Is merely a watch in the night
So before they all fly away
Teach us to number our days

Yes, before we all fly away
Teach us to number our days

*******
If you have a heart to do so, please lift up a prayer for my baby brother and his family … and if you are able … please help us to help them with all the expenses that this trial has and will produce. Thank you and don’t forget……number your days.
