It’s all in your perspective…..choose wisely

Fast approaching … little lights flickering in the window, beckoning those shivering in the winter cold to come inside and warm their bones with a mug of warmness. So many Feasts of Dedication have come and gone. Memories, smells and sights that warm the soul…and some that, well, just don’t. There has been a lot of changes in the last ten years, and sometimes circumstances just seem to weigh too heavy on the heart to continue going forward. This year is extremely difficult, but I’m sure there are many out there that feel like they have a lump of coal in their stocking...

The Fire Within….

I believe the sleeping giant (or shall I say the sleeping RUACH/Spirit) is being awakend in each of us……can you sense it? can you feel it? are you trembling on the edge of your seat with anticipation, not knowing what to do? The ember of indignation that has been sitting underneath that pile of contentment has been fanned and is beginning to glow ever so slowly…but just as in a real fire, the embers must be carefully fanned else they die out. Each of us are softly blowing on those faint red embers within us, around us, and coaxing them into life with each testimony, each...

A little rest here…a little rest there…

A little rest….I’ll take it where ever I can get it! And on this erev (eve) Shabbat, I find myself on a patio at my brother and sister-in-law’s house in sunny Florida. The weather is absolutely beautiful, a sweet breeze disperses the humidity and a serene quietness covers all. As evening approaches and the glow of Shabbat fills my being, truly a ‘rest’ that I don’t understand settles upon a weary soul. The blessing of being with my Creator in mind, body and soul refreshes and renews my inner journey to stay on the path of searching and knowing Him....

Sometimes….life gives you lemons. My grandmother used to say that…and then I heard my mother say it…now I say it. Life gives you lemons. So…make lemonade. Well, I’ve tried…but the lemonade still tastes bitter. What to do? Add more sweetener? Throw it out and start over? Check the lemons and see if they were rotten in the first place? Who knows. I certainly don’t. However, with a bit of reflection and discernment, it seems that there have always been ‘lemons’ hanging on my tree – from as far back as I can remember. Searching through the cobwebs of my embattled memories, various lemons pop to...

A new season….

I have always said life is a journey …. so stop and smell the roses as you go. Well…I’ve been on a journey since my husband left this world on December 18, 2018 … and I am trying to smell the roses. Sometimes it is difficult to even breathe, much less smell flowers. But, as my youngest son Jason, who has also left this world would say, ‘it is what it is, mom’. And so it is….what it is. Today I am visiting my sister, Michelle, in hot and humid South Carolina and having a wonderful time soaking in the salty air near the Charleston coast, enjoying a...

Parsha Ponderings….

Posted by on May 24, 2019 | 2 comments

The Haftarah this week is Jeremiah 32:6-27. For those of you just beginning this walk, the Haftarah refers to an additional portion from the Nevi’im (Prophets) read after the weekly Torah portion. There are 3 parts that are read by believers in Yeshua (Jesus) on Sabbath, the Torah, the Haftarah and the Renewed Covenant (NT). As I read thru the Parsha (weekly Scripture portion) for this week, Jeremiah really spoke to me and I’d like to share few thoughts concerning something it said. Jeremiah is probably one of my favorite books … because it speaks to me personally. Not to...
