Have you wondered what to do with all those dandelions growing in your yard? Well, here is one great idea that’s easy to make and will really set you apart!

Dandelion Salve

  • 16 oz of infused dandelion oil
  • 2 oz coconut oil
  • 2 oz of beeswax
  • 10-15 drops of lavender essential oil (but optional – or your favorite eo)

Step 1
Place the beeswax and coconut oil in a glass jar in another pan with several inches of water in it. Heat over low/medium heat until melted.

Step 2
Once melted, slowly stir in the infused dandelion oil. If your infusion is cool, it will cause the wax mixture to harden, so if that happens, simply keep heating the mixture until all melted.dandelion

Step 3
After removing from heat, now you can add the essential oil of your choice, stirring well. Lavender essential oil is very healing and will add another layer to your dandelion cream as well as a fragrant aroma.

Step 4
If the jar you made the salve in is the jar you are going to use, just let it cool it off and label. If you want to put it into smaller containers, pour now and then let it cool off and label. The coconut oil allows it to melt in your hand as it softens in your hand making it easier to spread.  It is great for dry, wintery itchy and cracked skin on your hands, feet, face and body!

So now you have the salve made, and if you had any of the infused oil left over, you can also use that for massage oil! After making a big batch of dandelion salve, I had some dandelion infused oil left over. Since the infused oil is  to help with pain relief, I filled an empty amber glass bottle to use for massage oil. What a relief dandelion massage oil is on achy and hurting muscles!

So now you have a very simple recipe…now …. on to a salad of these wonderful greens!
