It’s the LITTLE THINGS …

… that make you go ahhhhhhhhh…….

Today is the 7th day…a day of rest…a day of peace…a present from the Holy One Himself. So that would seem like a whole lot more than a ‘little thing’ ~ don’t you think? On the surface, of course it does!

However…if we dig a little deeper than we see that there are a whole lot of little things that make up the bigger picture. So, let’s look at the little things and piece them together.

Little things:

  • 60 seconds ~ in a minute
  • 60 minutes ~ in an hour
  • 24 hours ~ in a day
  • 7 days ~ in a week

Bigger Picture:

  • 60 seconds, 60 minutes, 24 hours, 7 days ~ all add up to ‘time’
  • Time is the essence of our journey
  • Our journey determines our destination and vice versa
  • The blueprint of God displays in glorious detail how to travel that journey.

So, you ask, what is that BLUEPRINT? It is found in His word. The black letters on the white space. Please consider that His word...His mind…does not waiver or change…He desires all of us to follow Him. One way to ‘follow‘ Him is to set our own agenda aside and walk in His.

  • Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy. Exodus 20:8-11
  • Observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy, as the Lord your God has commanded you. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do. Deuteronomy 5:12-14
  • I am the Lord your God; follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Keep my Sabbaths holy, that they may be a sign between us. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God. Ezekiel 20:19-20
  • Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done. Genesis 2:3
  • “If you keep your feet from breaking the Sabbath and from doing as you please on my holy day, if you call the Sabbath a delight and the Lord’s holy day honorable, and if you honor it by not going your own way and not doing as you please or speaking idle words, then you will find your joy in the Lord, and I will cause you to ride in triumph on the heights of the land and to feast on the inheritance of your father Jacob.” For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.   Isaiah 58:13-14
  • There are six days when you may work, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, a day of sacred assembly. You are not to do any work; wherever you live, it is a sabbath to the Lord. Leviticus 23:3
  • There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. Hebrews 4:9-10
  • Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord. Leviticus 26:2
  • Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience. Hebrews 4:11
