LAST DAY? What last day?
Dear Mishpocha (family),
Today, on the calendar that I follow for the Feast Days, it is the last day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, following Passover and then First Fruits (Lev 23:9-14). For some of you, Easter comes tomorrow and you will be celebrating the Resurrection then. To reconcile the two, one can also read I Cor. 15:20-23 where Paul speaks about Jesus being the First Fruits. Either way, those of us that follow the God of Israel and our Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) rejoice in the Son overcoming evil and paving the way for all of us to return to the Father! HalleluYAH! May all of us join together in rejoicing that HE has RISEN!
For those that are not familiar with the Feasts described for all His people in the Scriptures, let me explain a bit concerning the ponderings of Pam on this day of Unleavened Bread. This is the day that the Israelites crossed the Red (Reed) Sea. In Exodus 14:9-10 it says:
Read that scripture again….do you feel that you are at the edge of a sea of circumstances with the enemy close behind and there is no way to cross over to the other side? Do you feel that there are enemies behind you that are drawing near, step by step, ready to conquer and overwhelm you? Well, there are many of us feeling the sand wash away beneath our feet as we stand waiting for our salvation! Just as the Mighty Hand reached down and parted those seas so that His people in that day could walk through on dry land, He is faithful to do so for us today.
Read the words of our King as he brushed aside the waters: Exodus 14:13-15 says,
Now……it says in Exodus 14:19-22,
As you read these verses, let us realize that WE stood at those waters as well! We stood there then and we stand now at the waters of freedom. We are told to NOT FEAR and to STAND and see HIS SALVATION! If we KEEP SILENT (get that part Pamela?? slapping my hand upside my head – QUIT BELLYACHING – OY VEY!) Even today there is a pillar of cloud and of fire….surrounding us as we go forward. HE encompasses us and will lead us through to freedom!
So, today … as we emerge out of this festival season, let us recognize and walk forward ~ away from whatever enemy chases us in our pursuit of freedom! Let us keep our eyes on the prize and let us not be weighted down by unbelief!
Sing the song of Moses with me …. and claim your REDEMPTION!
Blessings family,
~Pamela~
