Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. … James 1:2-8

OOOOOK……yeah…right….I’ve read this a million ties and all I can say is ‘I fail’. When I am thrown headon into the chaos of a trial and am in the midst of being swallowed up in the vast expanse of the ‘great nothingness’, well…..more often than not I wallow. Yep…you heard me…I admit it, I fall apart as my first response. Course, I know, I’m the only one out there that does this ….. right??

However, AFTER that initial desperation and ‘why me’ as I wallow in the self-pity puddle, I realize .. well… “YOU DID SAY TURN IT ALL OVER …. so here you go Abba – it’s yours; now what do you want me to do”?

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippeans 4:6-7

Now after reminding myself about all those scriptures, do I immediately stop wallowing and acting like a baby? Well, sometimes…and sometimes, I wallow just  a bit more. But….then I pick myself up, dust myself off …. and head forward. Deep down, I know He has my back, He is doing something amazing with whatever I ‘see’ in front of me, and in the end….‘His will be done’!
