Crazy times….
These are indeed CRAZY DAYS! We’re seeing rapid upheaval, division, uncertainty in every sphere from politics and culture to global events and personal lives. It often feels like the ground beneath us is shifting constantly, with conflicting voices shouting for our allegiance, promises of security from leaders or systems that repeatedly falter, and chaos that can leave even the strongest feeling unsettled. However, scripture foretold such turbulent periods, reminding us that in the last days perilous times would come (2 Timothy 3:1), yet it also calls us to anchor ourselves NOT in the fleeting assurances of this world.
The Bible is clear, our trust belongs in God alone, not in man. Ponder on these verses:
It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. (Psalm 118:8)
Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help. (Psalm 146:3)
Human beings are mortal and their breath departs, and their plans perish with them. Jeremiah 17:5 goes further, pronouncing a curse on those who trust in mankind and make flesh their strength, turning their heart away from the Lord. Instead, we are invited to trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). When we do that we finding true refuge, help, and unshakable peace in Him who never changes or fails.
In these wild times, let’s heed this timeless wisdom: fix our eyes on the eternal God rather than the temporary figures and systems of earth. When everything around us seems unstable, He remains our rock, our salvation, and our hope, faithful through every storm!
