Yep….I have to admit – I’m a news junky….in the early hours, I lift my voice to the Father praying for all those in my family, and then afterwards, fill my cup with my fav – bullet coffee – and then sit down and listen to the news. Mostly I listen to favorite YT podcasts…such as “The Benny Show” or “Redacted” and then scroll through some favorite Telegram channels – mostly “Amir Tsarfati,” “Truth Social,” “The Professor’s Record,” and “Gateway Pundit”.  There are a few more, but those are my go-tos.

Some think I spend too much time doing this, but if you don’t know what’s going on in the world, how do you prepare? And we are told to prepare. There are many scriptures that speak of this:

The prudent sees danger and hides himself, but the simple go on and suffer for it. Proverbs 23:3

Go to the ant, O sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise. Without having any chief, officer, or ruler, she prepares her bread in summer and gathers her food in harvest. Proverbs 6:6-8

By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, in reverent fear constructed an ark for the saving of his household. By this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness that comes by faith. Hebrews 11:7

But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

And there are so many more verses that admonish us to prepare – no matter what lies ahead! So yes, maybe it is because I am ‘alone‘ or maybe it’s because I’m just ‘older‘ and more interested and have time for things going on in the world. But, it may be that I’m just simply wanting to be ‘ready‘ in all ways – physically, mentally and spiritually for the days ahead.

Be ready faithful to rely on the ONE who provides….but do not neglect His admonishment to be ‘prepared’!
